Choose your interface appearance

Open Interface #

Find Interface in your account settings. This section controls the visual treatment used across your ClearDBS account. Its icon and header artwork describe appearance settings, while other section headers use icons suited to their own purpose.

The visual choice affects presentation. It does not change your role, record access or workflow requirements.

Select a theme #

Choose one of the available appearance options and inspect the preview or page response. Light surfaces use blue accents; dark surfaces use a charcoal background with readable controls and blue emphasis. Follow the current setting’s description for whether it uses the device preference.

After changing the setting, visit a familiar check or dashboard section and confirm text, fields and action states remain legible. A PDF or signature page may intentionally keep a white document surface so the original content remains readable.

Use a smaller screen #

On mobile, navigation and detail panels may collapse into labelled buttons. Open the relevant menu rather than trying to scroll the entire page horizontally. A table can have its own scroll region without implying the whole app is broken.

In the AI workspace, the menu button opens conversation navigation. The composer remains available below the conversation; the tutorial library is available through Help & tutorials.

Keyboard and motion preferences #

Use Tab to move through interactive controls and Enter or Space to activate the focused control. A visible focus outline shows which element will receive the action. Respect device reduced-motion preferences where supported.

If something becomes unreadable after a theme change, report the exact screen and theme. Do not interpret a colour alone as a check approval; read its status text.

1. Choose readable presentation

Appearance contains personal presentation choices, including interface and layout preferences. Change one preference at a time when adjusting a real workspace so you can judge its effect. These choices do not alter an applicant record or organisation permissions.

2. Understand layout and motion

Look through the layout, navigation, table and motion preferences in this panel. Reduced motion can make transitions easier to follow; table styling changes presentation rather than filtering records. The walkthrough explains the controls without resetting your preferences.

3. Choose a predictable theme

Read the three Theme options before making a choice outside the tutorial. Match my device can change when your device appearance changes; Light and Dark stay with the selected mode. Close the menu without choosing to leave the current preference as it is.

Open Settings → Appearance. Use a familiar page to compare readability when changing real preferences; practice can inspect the options without selecting them.

Worked example #

If small text is difficult to read, inspect Text size before changing several presentation controls. Check a familiar table afterwards and make sure its headings and actions remain usable.
