Maintain your organisation profile

Review company details, affiliation and account settings in the correct workspace.

Confirm the selected organisation

Open the organisation profile and inspect the displayed company name and account context. If you belong to more than one organisation, check which workspace is active before editing details or reviewing members.

A personal profile describes you; an organisation profile describes the company. Changing one does not necessarily update the other. The organisation’s application and approval status are separate from your personal sign-in details.

Review the information

Inspect the available company details, contact information and operational settings. Use the existing edit controls only when your role allows them. Keep information accurate and limited to what the workspace needs.

Where a field is locked or missing, do not work around it with a team name, chat note or duplicate organisation. Follow the displayed process or ask the platform team to review the correction.

Save and verify a change

  1. Open the intended organisation and section.
  2. Review the current value before changing it.
  3. Complete any required related fields.
  4. Save through the form and read its response.
  5. Reopen the section to confirm the saved value.

A form validation message means the change needs correction; it is not a successful save. If the page reports an availability restriction, changing profile data cannot unlock a live workspace.

Separate settings from access

Use Members for invitations and roles, Teams for operational groups, and Billing for financial records. Company profile settings are not a substitute for those workflows. AI may explain these areas but only the explicit supported action catalogue can make routine changes after approval.

Detailed walkthrough

1. Confirm the organisation first

Read the organisation identity before changing any setting. Similar company names can represent different legal entities. Use the legal name and company number to verify the workspace, and keep personal account settings separate from organisation settings.

2. Review the branding and identifiers

Compare the logo, legal name and company number with the organisation records you intend to use. Branding helps applicants recognise the sender but does not establish legal identity. Correct the organisation identifiers through the authorised settings form.

3. Resolve validation before saving

In an editable workspace, review field errors and correct the affected values before saving again. Confirm the saved details afterwards. Read-only or disabled controls can reflect your role or workspace availability; the tutorial does not bypass either restriction.

Practise this section

Open Help & tutorials, select this guide and choose Start practice walkthrough. Read each highlighted component before continuing. Use Back to revisit an explanation and Retry if a sample has not loaded. The walkthrough uses fictional records; do not enter real applicant information.

Use Exit tutorial to leave and keep your place, then Resume walkthrough in this guide to continue. When returning from practice to a real workspace, review the actual record and your permissions before making a change. Tutorial completion does not perform the underlying task.

Before using this guide

Open Settings → Organisation with the intended organisation selected. Use authorised company records to review real changes; the walkthrough uses fictional company details.

Worked example

If the branding looks familiar but the legal name differs, verify the company number before editing. A logo change should not be treated as a change to the legal entity.

Guided component walkthrough

Each component has one short guided step. Read the explanation, then choose Next; Back revisits the previous component. The cursor only demonstrates useful navigation or an explicit action. Replay action repeats that demonstration, and Skip animation keeps the explanation. Use this written guide for feature details.

Organisation settings

  • Organisation settings: The Organisation panel carries the company details, branding and check defaults that identify this workspace.
  • Legal company name: Legal name identifies the organisation recorded for this workspace. Compare it with the organisation you intend to manage before editing branding or defaults. Do not use an applicant name here.
  • Default check type: Default check type is a starting choice for new work. A configured default is not confirmation that a check type is available for live submission; eligibility and launch availability still apply.
  • Confirm the organisation first: Read the organisation identity before changing any setting. Similar company names can represent different legal entities. Use the legal name and company number to verify the workspace, and keep personal account settings separate from organisation settings.

Organisation identity

  • Organisation identity: Logo, legal name and company number travel with every request your organisation makes, so they have to match your records.
  • Review the branding and identifiers: Compare the logo, legal name and company number with the organisation records you intend to use. Branding helps applicants recognise the sender but does not establish legal identity. Correct the organisation identifiers through the authorised settings form.

Review before saving

  • Review before saving: These details reach applicants and invoices. Changes save explicitly, and this walkthrough has changed nothing.
  • Resolve validation before saving: In an editable workspace, review field errors and correct the affected values before saving again. Confirm the saved details afterwards. Read-only or disabled controls can reflect your role or workspace availability; the tutorial does not bypass either restriction.
