Before you start

Open the Organisation workspace and Settings → Team & access. The controls you can use depend on your role and workspace availability. Practice uses synthetic records and never grants extra permissions.

Read the recorded limits

Seats and Monthly check allowance describe the values recorded for this workspace. Not recorded means a value is unavailable; it is not a promise of unlimited usage. These figures do not establish a paid subscription or live DBS availability.

Identify the accountable contact

Review Accountable contact name and Accountable contact email. These identify the person the organisation records for compliance queries. Use a monitored organisational contact in a real workspace, and review the address carefully before saving.

Choose a default invitation role

Default invite role preselects a role when a new colleague is invited. Choose the minimum role appropriate for routine invitations, then review each invitation individually. Changing a default is not the same as updating existing members or granting authority for regulated decisions.

Understand Save changes

A real edit must be saved using Save changes. The button can be disabled when nothing changed, while saving, or when you lack edit access. Read any field validation and confirm the stored contact and role afterwards. This walkthrough changes neither.

Find individual access records

Use Users to inspect an existing colleague and Teams to organise membership. Return to Team & access when the workspace contact or invitation default needs attention. Keeping those tasks separate avoids changing a default when only one member needs a correction.

Follow the interactive walkthrough

  1. Open Help & tutorials in the intended Organisation section.
  2. Select this guide and read the preparation instructions.
  3. Choose Start practice walkthrough to inspect the synthetic example.
  4. Follow each highlighted component. Use Back to revisit its explanation and Retry if loading interrupted the step.
  5. Use Exit tutorial to save your place; choose Resume walkthrough from this guide later.
  6. If you arrived from a real workspace, use Return to workspace, then verify the actual record and your permissions before making a change.

If something is unavailable

Confirm that you opened the Organisation workspace and the intended section. If a control is read-only, check your permissions and the message on that panel. Do not interpret an absent action as an already completed operation. If a tutorial target is missing, use Retry after loading; report the guide title and step if it remains unavailable.

Guided component walkthrough

Each component has one short guided step. Read the explanation, then choose Next; Back revisits the previous component. The cursor only demonstrates useful navigation or an explicit action. Replay action repeats that demonstration, and Skip animation keeps the explanation. Use this written guide for feature details.

  • Contact name: Accountable contact name identifies who should handle workspace access questions. Read it together with the contact email so you can route a request to the right person.
